About Flamengo

Flamengo is one of Rio's most gracious residential districts: a bay-front sweep of Belle Époque apartment buildings beside the Aterro do Flamengo, the largest urban park in the city, designed by the legendary landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx and home to the Museu de Arte Moderna and the Marina da Glória. Three metro stations and the Largo do Machado square anchor a calm, settled neighbourhood quieter than its hip neighbour Botafogo. For investors, Flamengo is a heritage-and-value play: characterful period architecture, vast parkland and excellent transit at per-square-metre prices below the beach neighbourhoods, with solid yields of ~5–6% from family and long-term-let demand. It offers Botafogo's connectivity in a more residential, lower-key package. Foreigners buy urban property on fully equal terms in Brazilian reais, with the VIPER investor route available for residency; currency exposure is the key variable to weigh.
