Midigama

Midigama is the south coast at its most stripped-back: a small surf village between Ahangama and Weligama where the day revolves around reef breaks like Rams, Coconuts and Lazy Left, some of the best waves on the island for intermediate surfers. There are no resorts and little polish, just guesthouses, surf camps and a couple of boho cafes. The crowd reflects that, returning surfers and long-stay digital nomads who come for the waves and stay for weeks, giving the village a steadier off-season floor than the party beaches. Ajna Food and Yoga and Cafe Secret Alley anchor the small social scene. For investors, the draw is value and loyalty: lower entry prices than Mirissa and a dedicated repeat clientele. The trade-offs are equally clear, narrow surf-dependent demand, the thinnest resale liquidity in the area, limited village infrastructure, and the usual condo-or-lease constraint for foreign buyers.
